Whether daycare centres and schools, public authorities, museums, libraries or even property management companies of housing cooperatives or commercially used real estate portfolios – digital solutions help to optimize processes and save resources for the up-to-date and prompt dissemination of information.
At the same time, this brings with it new challenges in the area of fire protection to prevent fire incidents. According to the Institute for Loss Statistics (IFS), “electricity” (at 32%) is one of the most common appliance-based causes of fire. Built-in electronic components such as power supply units can overheat and ignite in electrical appliances. This makes it all the more important in the course of digitalization in buildings that information displays mounted on the wall, for example, do not represent an additional source of fire in an emergency. Strict fire safety regulations apply, particularly in public areas with large gatherings of people. The so-called “sensitive areas” include necessary stairwells and corridors, foyers and escape and rescue routes in buildings. The extent of damage caused by a fire can be particularly high here.
