In spring 2020, gekartel expanded its product portfolio to include the Hygiene Info Point (HIP). This is a metal stele into which a 22-inch touch display and a disinfectant dispenser with an arm lever have been installed.

As a well-thought-out further development of the technology of the digital home board, the Hygiene Info Point offers several advantages at once:

  • Hand sanitiser is available everywhere it is needed. As currently the only fire protection-certified stele, the HIP can stand in any entrance area.
  • The display shows information about correct hand disinfection.
  • The arm lever enables contactless operation of the disinfectant dispenser.
  • The hardened metal stele is hygienic and easy to clean.
  • Because of its size and the moving images on the display, you can’t miss it and you can also use the option to disinfect your hands.

Klaus Schäfer, CEO of gekartel AG, thinks: “It’s not enough to put up a hygiene dispenser, you also have to explain it. The hand cleaning process is explained using texts and short films on the screen.”

The Hygiene Info Point is suitable for all companies where a lot of people come and go, whether employees or customers. It only requires a power connection for the display, so it can be used flexibly. You can read more information about the Properties of the Hygiene Info Points on our website.

The Dresden Chamber of Commerce and Industry looked around its chamber district in the spring and looked for companies that used the Corona crisis as an opportunity to develop or further develop innovative ideas and products. One of these companies is gekartel AG with the hygiene info point, which appeared in the article “Business models in times of crisis – put to the test”. The article is the cover story of the  issue 5/6-2020 of the IHK magazine of the Dresden Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He presents other innovative products and services with which Dresden entrepreneurs have used the Corona crisis as an opportunity:
  • The digital entry traffic light from eKiosk GmbH counts the number of visitors to a store and shows a green display when additional customers are allowed to enter the store. If the maximum number of customers has been reached, this will be shown in a red display.
  • The No-Touch GbR from Meißen developed a door handle adapter made of easy-to-clean stainless steel that is mounted on standard door handles. Doors can be easily opened with your forearm and your hands stay clean.
  • The idea of contactless door opening was also taken up by carpenter Mike Höpke from Schönheide (Erzgebirge) with his door handle attachment made of multiplex panels and Andreas Rösch from Dippoldiswalde with his “Gribbb” made from acrylic plexiglass.
  • The Arnell company from Oderwitz developed the Trollgrip, a hygiene handle fordocking” onto standard shopping carts.
